Designing for Real User Needs
During ALI's 2019 Public Health Deep Dive, Patrick Whitney, Professor in Residence at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and former dean of the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, made the case that design was an essential component to creating solutions in public health. As problems became more ambiguous, and solutions more uncertain, Whitney explained that leaders were turning to design and new ways of thinking. His systematized approach to design thinking used frameworks and methods to amplify creativity and imagination.
